20.1.2002 - Winter Wonder South
From Edmonton we headed to Springfield
Marina Cafe for teas, and on for a quick visit to the Eastway cycle
circuit. There were no competitors (too sensible to come out in the windy
weather?) so the nice Eastway folk let us have a free lap around.
Lunch at the Princess of Wales. Paul, Ian S, Stuart, Alan,
Trevor, Jim, Gary, Annette, Anthony, Treargo & Gunsel.
10.2.2002 - Pymmes Brook trail
South from Enfield, joining the Pymmes
trail at Palmers Green, then out towards Barnet and Monken Hadley.
Tea at the Trent Park Cafe. Paul, Jim, Trevor, George, Marion C, Marion

24.2.2002 - Eastway Bikers'
Paradise
South along the Lee, past Hackney
Marshes to the Eastway Cycle Circuit. Lunch at Princess of Wales
pub. A wheel check for Alan. Home in light rain. Paul,

10.3.2002 - Blair Bike Project!
A semi off-road ride, heading to the
Forest Gate for lunch. Ian, Trevor, Alan, Jim, Stuart, Marion T,
Graham, Gabrielle & 2 more.

24.3.2002 - Rib Valley Ride
Both ride leaders were missing
today (one due to flu and one due to hangover!) so there was the need for some
improvisation over the route! As a result we ended up going nowhere near the Rib
Valley!
After the train arrived at Hertford, we set off along the Cole Green Way (a
disused railway). We then rode on to Tewin for lunch, and then back to Hertford
via Burnham Green (appropriately named, as their pub burned down last year) and

31.3.2002 - Spring off to
Victoria Park
From Edmonton Leisure Centre to
Victoria Park along the Lee. Wot? No sunshine? Tea at
Springfield Marina, lunch at Falcon & Firkin. Home
mid-afternoon. Paul, Caroline, Roast Alan, Roast Jim, Stuart,
Marion T, Helen, Graham.
14.4.2002 - Wormley Burps ride
Past Theobalds and Temple Bar (always
good for a photo stop), crossing FRR. On past Cheshunt Park to the good ol'
Wormley Woodman for an outdoor lunch. Back via Broxbourne via the towpath.

Go)
From Edmonton south following the Lee,
then Victoria Park, Mile End Park to lunch at the Barley Mow by Limehouse

19.5.2002 - Pymmes Trail
Blazers
Along the Pymmes Trail towards Monken
Hadley. Lunch at King William IV and Trent Tavern (wot? 2
lunches? ED) Drinks at Crown & Horseshoes, Enfield. Christina,

Sun 16.6.2002 -
Family Ride to Hayes Hill Farm
From the new leisure centre at Southbury, via Halfords
for freebies (thanks!), to the Lee towpath. Leisurely cycling for the
families, away from traffic, to the riverside cafe at Waltham Abbey for tea and
buns, and a gentle meander to Hayes Hill Farm. Everyone enjoyed visiting
the animals in the warm sunshine. Peter didn't realise that pigs were that
huge! A slow wander back to Enfield Lock, where some stayed for a beer or
two at the Greyhound and teh rest took teh backstreet route home. Wayne,

The Enfield Soiree
A pub crawl ...err, bracing evening ride around North
Enfield calling at the Fallow Buck and the Crown & Horseshoes. Waynepeter,

20.6.2002 - The Original Ice-Cream Ride
This ride is now in its 10th fantastic year - beware
of imitations!
The usual route from Ally Pally down the Parklans Walk was enlivened by the
discovery of a blazing motorbike, and we swiftly called for Fireman Sam!
The on to Camden (without getting lost for once) and enjoyed the usual
magnificent ices at Marine. Wayne, Ian, Stuart, Paul L, Paul B,
Jeff, Marion, Tony, Richard, Dave L, Alan and the four mountain bikes of the
Apocalypse....

The Trent Park "Tour"
An easy ride around the fields and paths of the park,
taking in the wildlife, obelisks and, of course, the cafe (at least
twice!). Paul L, Ian, Alan, Chris, Paul S, Ray, Sally and the
girls.

Bloomsbury Bikefest (bikefeast?)
An intrepid team rode south to Greenwich for lunch,
and took the foot tunnel to the South Bank. Along the NCN Route 4 to
Waterloo Bridge and on to Queens Square to see the Camden LCC BikeFest - bike
oddities, food, drums and info!!! Stephen, Richard,
Trevor, Ian, Paul, Alan, Marian, Stuart, Iris, Reni, Mike, Graham & Chris.

Halfway-round-the-borough Drizzle Ride
The route took us north from Edmonton
along the towpath, west towards Temple Bar. Through Goffs Oak, south down
Burnt Farm Ride towards the Plough. On to Forty Hall, where there
was a photo exhibition. Typically, the sun only came out as we rode
home! Paul, Ian, Alan, Stuart, Caroline, Jim, Chris, Marian, Tony,
Graham, Mike & Jeff.
11.7.2002 - Enfield Soiree
An evening ride to Ye Ploughe, then to
the Crown & Horseshoes. Drinking up were Ian, Mike, Alan,
Caroline, Stuart & Graham
28.7.2002 - Charity Ride for
Breakthrough Breast Cancer
In boiling sunny weather, 4000+
cyclists rode to Cambridge from Picketts Lock via Widford, Langley and Ickleton.
Good pub stops with necessary water! And beer. Back by train, car
and bike!!! PauLl, Ian, Alan, Sally & Mark, Jeff & Marion,
Stuart, Guy, Mus, Tony, Roger, Francis, Daniel, Gunsel, Utku, Wayne, Paul B,

11.8.2002 - Three Red Lions in
Herts
A taxing double-loop from Knebworth
(no, we didn't cycle, we got the train there!) around West Herts. Tasty
lunches consumed - back at dusk. Richard, Ian, Graham, Paul, Stuart,
Jim, Clifford, Costas, Mike, Marion, Jeff, Sangeeta, Monica, Anya, Ro, Caroline,
Kate and Marian..

From Enfield, North along the Lee for
tea at Broxbourne. Lunch at the Jolly Fisherman. More tea at
Hertford, the Old Barge. Fine weather al day! Ian, Stuart,

22.9.2002 - Car Free Day in
Enfield
We're very pleased that Car-Free Day
was a success. A brilliant event, the first of its kind in Enfield, and
all thanks to Enfield Cycle Campaign for putting the idea in the Council's
heads. It was hard work organising beforehand, but on the day we had
a great time. The atmosphere in Church Street was festive and very
friendly. Well done to helpers and prizewinners. See

27.10.2002 - Dobbs Weir
East from Enfield up to High Beech for
good beer and lunch at the Coach & Horseshoes. Unfortunately a
puncture for Mike. Onwards to Dobbs Weir, and back to the Old English
Gentleman, which we are pleased to say has been re-opened with new
management. Brilliant! Ian, Stuart, Stuart's mate, Mike, Graham,
Jim.
