| Information: | Hendon and RAF Museum. Tea stop Barnet Town Courthouse Gardens at 6 miles. Main stop at RAF museum at 12 miles, café inside, tea and sandwich is about £5.50. About an hour in the Museum is enough to do a circuit. The entry is free plus a donation if you fancy, there are some pay exhibits 4D cinema for 15 mins for £5.00 and Spitfire experience for £10 which may require pre booking if museum is busy. Both are well worth it. An alternative if the museum is not your thing, there is the Beaufort Pub within a few hundred yards that does food. The return will be along Totteridge Lane, it is safer than you would expect. From Oakleigh Park to Beggars Hollow may be via Cat Hill and along the main road. We tried to avoid the main streets but it was so hilly it's not worth it. Total should be about 22 miles, quite short but with some hilly bits here and there. All on road so use either a road or hybrid bike rather than a mountain bike if you have the choice. Ample bike lock spaces at the venue. |

There is often a queue for cash payment, so best to pay by Oyster or contactless bank card.). The Woolwich ferry boats, which are over 50 years old, are scheduled to come out of service in October to be replaced with more modern diesel electric vessels. So this is almost your last chance to see the old school boats close up. About 35 miles. This ride was previously scheduled for 7th October, but has been moved because of the impending ferry upgrade. |
