Crossing the Thames southbound on the Woolwich ferry (free), then northbound on the new cable car £3.20 per single journey on an Oyster card or with a Freedom pass, £4.30 if you pay cash). If there is fog or a high wind then we may have to reconsider on the day, as the river crossings may not be running. Mainly off road on paved paths, about 30 miles.

Information: One way ride from Chelmsford back to Enfield or Edmonton. All on road, about 35 miles. Some riders will be meeting at Edmonton Leisure Centre at 9:00 to catch a train to Liverpool Street, and to take advantage of Groupsave fares. Alternatively, catch the 10:02 from Liverpool Street, arriving Chelmsford 10:43. The ride will await the arrival of this train before leaving. This ride was postponed from 24th March due to the unseasonable cold weather. Hopefully it will have warmed up a bit by now ...

Meeting PlaceChesham Metropolitan Line Station
Information: A train assisted ride starting from Chesham Station and riding around the Chiltern Hills. No pub or café stops, but bring food for a picnic at Coombe Hill, and if we time it right we can take in a cream tea at Great Missenden Church. Note that although Chesham is served by Underground trains, the service is only every 30 minutes - the recommended train leaves Baker Street at 10:15. The ride leader is intending to catch this train. About 22 miles, all on quiet roads but with some steep rewarding hills up and down. We will take the ups slowly (and you can walk up if you like), but please ensure you have good brakes for the downs.
Chesham Station is in TfL Zone 9. The Oyster daily price cap for more or less any journey into zone 9 is £11.60. Seems a lot, but you won't be spending any money in the pub! For those of more mature years, the Freedon Pass is valid for the entire journey. Altenatively, Chesham Station has a large car park which is free on Sundays.

This ride offers a brilliant opportunity to get the whole family together to experience the fun and freedom of cycling around an eight-mile traffic-free circuit in central London. Information: Richmond Park. Riding through the City and around the South Bank, then across Wimbledon Common to Richmond Park. Back along the river banks and Boris' cycling superhighways (which aren't really that super). Fairly flat, and although the start and end are through traffic, most of the ride is along quiet roads, cycle paths and through parks. Café lunch or bring picnic. About 35 miles.
