| Information: | Queenswood Café, Highgate. About 15 miles, We will start our ride pedalling towards Bush Hill Park, along quiet residential roads parallel to Green Lanes, heading towards Palmerston Road, then continue on the Penstock greenway and Crouch End Playing Fields to Queen's Wood Cafe. Our destination has a beautiful, tranquil kitchen garden at the back, perfect for a cup of tea and a light snack. Given that we are opting for a spring day and should arrive before noon, it is hopefully not too busy. The route home will take us halfway down Muswell Hill, past quiet residential streets, Alexandra Palace, and Nightingale Gardens. However, rather than going straight towards Enfield at the end of Palmerston Road, I added a small loop to Firs Farm Wetlands, where the tour ends. Feel free to join with your road bike or hybrid; we will stay on tarmacked roads. Given that spring days can be cold and unpredictable, and many of us will want to ease into a new cycling season, I kept the tour short; however, note that there is one challenging hill to conquer. |
